This Interactive Screen Called 'Speak to Me' Was Installed in Toronto

Toronto's entertainment district welcomed an instalment called 'Speak to Me,' a giant speech bubble sculpture. The unique interactive screen was meant to be an ever-changing public art show.

The installation was made with a large LED screen and steel frame. The screen played various animated videos throughout the day. Although speech bubbles are typically used in comics to depict the spoken word, the use of animation and visuals provide an ironic twist to the sculpture. The large-scale structure stood at 20 feet tall, by 17 feet wide and needed cranes to transport and erect the massive speech bubble.

As the night went on, passersby were entertained with a recurring reel of animation, bright colors and abstract patterns, showcasing the breadth of Toronto's digital art scene.
