This Addition to 'Site Santa Fe' Has a Detailed Aluminum Facade

Site Santa Fe has grown into a contemporary art and architectural hub in recent years. The plans for the newly unveiled extension by SHoP architects shows how the gallery and workshop space hopes to engage more people in the community through enlarging and diversifying the space.

The entire gallery will get a well-deserved technological upgrade, but more importantly transform from its earlier closed-off design, and become a space that opens up to the community. The extension will create a new reception space made featuring a striking water-jet-cut aluminum façade. This unique design is inspired by Navaho pattern-making, which pays homage to the industrial past of the gallery's site. The intricately layered walls will house Site Sante Fe's iconic quirky exhibits, lecture halls, event spaces and classrooms.
