Singapore Science Centre Boasts Interactive and Educational Exhibits

The Singapore Science Centre is an educational institution which recently got an immersive makeover. First opened in 1977, the centre is taking its current exhibits and programs to new heights with the help of interactive elements and the latest technology.

Aiming to teach visitors about "science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)" topics, this institution is going beyond a student-specific engagement model by aiming to draw in a broader crowd of tourists, families and general science lovers.

"We want to create a very immersive situation where there's participation and interaction. We understand the trend of young people especially. We call them EPIC people, [which stands for] experiential, participatory, image-driven and connected to social media," said SCS chief executive and president of the Asia Pacific Network of Science and Technology Centres Lim Tit Meng about the new direction for the institution.

Some notable exhibits to check out within the space include an Instagram-friendly mirror maze installation, a science of fear and phobias exhibit and the Yellow Room -- an exhibit exploring the different aspects and effects of growing older.
