Studio weave Designs the Seoseang House Overlooking the Sea

London-based practice Studio Weave creates the Seosaeng House located in South Korea overlooking the sea. It is made with pink concrete tiles and rests atop a hill by the Eastern peninsula. The home is sectioned off into three volumes that are arranged in an elevating stepped formation that is applied to seamlessly blend in with the natural hillside's structure.

Studio founder Je Ahn speaks about the design project to Dezeen, stating that "The design stems from two sources: the topological and the cultural context. Essentially, the building draws from the Korean tradition of the courtyard house, translated onto the sloped site which has red-pink soil, resulting in a pink building which reflects the geology of the area. The undulating cladding borrows its tone from the surrounding soil, and seems to glow with red undertones in the sunrise."
