Nature-Mimicking Architecture

Seeley Architects Designs the Citriodora House in Australia

Designed by Australia-based firm Seeley Architects, the Citriodora House is designed to reflect its natural surroundings. The coastal abode is made up mostly of timber, and also features large glass windows in certain sections to make the most of the natural light that shines through during the day.

According to The Contemporist, the design is "inspired by the affects of the coastal winds, and the form of the roof gently rolls, mimicking the shape of the wind pruned coastal vegetation." With this in mind, the architecture blends in perfectly with the surrounding area, and the glass features allow individuals to gaze out without dealing with the wind or heat. Inside, Seeley Architects have used mostly open-concept designs to make the space feel even bigger than it already is.
