Panoramic Seaside Abodes

Every Room has the Best View in This Seafront Residence

Chilean studio LAND Arquitectos designed this seafront residence, titled the 'Catch the Views House,' in Zapallar, Chile. The house was named because of the way it frames the surrounding vistas.

The architects accommodated the rocky terrain of the site by designing a three-pronged, two-storey plan. Every room in the house is positioned to offer the inhabitants views of the sea and landscape. The architects explain, "To achieve this initial objective, plus considering the strong slope of the site, we arranged and stacked the volumes one above the other, directed to the selected views."

Though the storeys are approximately the same size, they only line up on one side. The differentiating rooftops create a sheltered cavern that one can walk beneath.
