It's as though Scott Hoven has been envisioning the house that Hansel and Gretal stumbled upon in the forest all his life. He has created Cakeland, an interior made entirely out of pastries and other sweets. As sickening as it is sweet, it's hard not to appreciate Scott Hoven's work -- especially on Easter weekend.
Full of dramatic cake decorations that cover everything floor to ceiling, Scott Hoven's installation follows a rather simple process. He shares, "I walk around my house, and see imaginary pieces on my wall, and then pick out the ones that I would most like to actually see hanging on the wall. Then I use every and any type of material to scratch the piece into existence. So much about making a piece of art is creating problems and solving them."
