Grand Mountainview Homes

This Scenic Home Focuses on Outdoor Living

TVA Architects designed the 'Frankel Residence,' a scenic home located in the town of Sisters, Oregon.

The architects wished to accentuate views of the Three Sisters Mountains, located to the west of the 40-acre agricultural site, as well as Mount Jefferson on the north.

The home rests comfortably on a constructed base, raised several inches above the ground plane. Creating outdoor living spaces was integral to the design and arrangement of the home, which features several sheltered patios. Above the horizontal composition, two fireplace chimneys stretch towards the sky, acting as a striking visual feature for the space. The composition consists of pavilions clad in stucco that are connected together using a set of glazed passageways.
