Sarah Gee Turns Geometric Shapes Into Vivid Works of Art

Staring at these Sarah Gee illustrations, I'm firstly reminded of the kaleidoscopes I used to play with as a kid in toy stores. The unique patterns and trippy colors are totally evocative of that childhood play thing, only these images were created without the aid of mirrors and tubes.

Sarah Gee is an artist currently residing in Vancouver, British Columbia. She explains that her illustrative style borrows from, "op, minimalism, Russian constructivism, color field, and de Stijl" aesthetics. Though the shapes may seem simplistic, Sarah Gee actually puts a lot of meaning behind her works. In fact, her explanations of her pieces are so in depth that I wouldn't be able to do them justice simply transcribing them to you.

Who knew that images that look like colorful crop circles could hold so much significance?
