Retro Presswork Branding

Un Posto a Base's Visual Identity Spotlights Minimalist Typography

Un Posto a Base is a design-centric eatery, with a visual identity that is inspired by retro presswork. Located inside BASE, an innovation hub in Milan, the restaurant features menus, business cards, and signage inspired by vintage printed materials.

A former factory, BASE now acts as a large space that promotes both creative arts and tech development, with co-working and manufacturing areas throughout it. The innovation hub's restaurant and bar hybrid references its industrial past, with an exclusive menu of stick appetizers which are inspired by traditional assembly lines.

Referencing retro presswork, and an industrial aesthetic, designer and art director Vittorio Perotti teamed up with graphic designer and illustrator Giulia Zoavo to come up with this eatery's unique branding. The result is sleek and simplistic, with a touch of visual interest provided by bright colors and eye-catching symbols.
