To honor the impending release of Stranger Things 3 on Netflix, a familiar retro Coca-Cola can will be making a reappearance. As the set of the cult-favorite show will be inspired by "the summer of '85," the beverage company decided to bring back its 1985 'New Coke' recipe.
The original product was considered to be a "marketing mistake" and it was quickly discontinued after 79 days. The new release boasts a limited count of 'New Coke.' In addition, the partnership is extending to include special retro Coca-Cola cans that spotlight Stranger Things-themed motifs. The exclusive designs will be presented via the 16-oz 'New Coke' from 1985, and the 16-oz Coke Zero Sugar. The collaboration will also extend itself into the world of fiction as the Netflix Original series will feature a few appearances of the 1985 New Coke.
