'Residence 1446', a luxurious estate outside of Austin, Texas, is adjacent to both a lake and a lagoon, and the home is designed to reflect that peaceful natural environment. Though it's indeed a large house, Residence 1446 is laid out in a sprawling, horizontally composed floor plan, giving it a relatively minimal impact on the physical environment.
Residence 1446 is actually the final piece in an elaborate estate that Miro Rivera Architects designed for its client. The full project includes a guest house, a pedestrian bridge, a pool, and a boathouse. The guest house is three stories tall, which puts it in stark opposition to the bungalow layout of the main residence itself.
