The Religious Star Wars Icons Carry the Force of God

Artist Chawakarn Kongprasert designed his Religious Star Wars Icons to look like medieval manuscripts, featuring well-known Star Wars characters in different religious-based imagery. This depiction of Science Fiction, blended with classic religion, analyzes the way people view these two different types of iconic imagery.

There are the much-loved characters including Chewbacca, Yoda and even R2D2 in easily recognizable, holy settings surrounded by saints with orbs of light around their heads and other religious iconography. Anakin Skywalker is featured as a Jesus figure while Darth Vader is the Holy Father, which, considering his evil temperament in the movies, could be considered highly sacrilegious.

It seems that Kongprasert is making a statement about the comparisons between science fiction stories and biblical stories in his Religious Star Wars Icons artwork.
