Italian architect Salvatore Spataro has created a line of relic-inspired chocolate to celebrate Sicilian culture.
As a part of his 'Design Meets Sicily' collection, the chocolates have been made to look like the tools used by farmers in ancient Sicily. For example, some of the relic-inspired chocolates feature a conical shape of the tool used by farmers to pick figs, while another looks strikingly like the container ricotta was traditionally stored in.
The chocolates look equally like a uniquely shaped truffle and ancient relic -- the rough appearance of the Modican chocolate comes from a cold pressed molding process.
The chocolates are made in Italy and come housed in a white box with red writing. The lid of the box houses a table of contents describing each piece in the collection and its historical use, making this snack all the more appealing to both design, and history buffs.
