Aldi's 'Project Fresh' Emphasizes Product Freshness In-Store

UK supermarket chain Aldi is currently implementing 'Project Fresh' across many of its stores.

The project introduces sections for vegetables, vegetarian food products, frozen pizzas, ready-made meals and more that are clearly labeled with overhead graphics for better sightlines. While these sections are neatly organized, they are also densely merchandised. To quickly communicate key product details to consumers, Aldi has implemented graphics such as flags that indicate the origin of different kinds of produce. For instance, the Union flag can be seen above where the sausages are displayed in-store.

Thus far, Aldi reports that stores to receive the Project Fresh treatment have seen a significant improvement in sales. As such, hundreds more stores from the discount supermarket retailer are set to receive the same treatment across the UK.
