Postmates is introducing a new delivery option called 'Postmates Party' that lets users opt into having their food order delivered as part of a group. Within the app, users are able to see a list of places that people in their neighborhood or ordering from in the moment, giving them the chance to join in for quick delivery and reduced service fees.
With Postmates Party, individual meal orders are sent out in batches and delivery people make multiple stops along their route in a small area. Although more orders have the potential to be delivered in a close range at a time, a delivery may take slightly more time to arrive, so Postmates is reducing its delivery fee for this ordering option.
