Plensa's Talking Continents Exhibit Was Made from Nine Languages

In his latest installation in New York at the Galerie Lelong, Spanish artist and sculptor Jaume Plensa has created Talking Continents, composed of 19 stainless steel structures that were made from letters from nine different countries.

The Barcelona-born artist is mostly known for his towering sculptures displayed in public spaces. In Talking Continents, he creates an intricate series of steel sculptures that are suspended mid-air by invisible cable cords. This latest exhibition displays a more minimalist side to Plensa's usual aesthetic. The result is the celestial weightlessness of the installations, creating a sense of zen and peace in the gallery space.

According to Plensa, these structures represent humanity and the world as a whole, combining languages from all over the world to create human like figures, all in the name of global unity.
