The Pine Ave Residence is a 5,100-square-foot single-family home located in El Segundo, California. The project was designed by AAHA Studio on the site of a previous house that was destroyed by fire, requiring a full ground-up rebuild. The new structure replaces all major systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, windows, and structural components. The layout is organized around a central interior atrium that functions as a lightwell and circulation anchor. Primary living spaces, circulation zones, and auxiliary rooms are arranged around this core, allowing daylight to reach multiple levels of the house.
The residence includes communal living areas, bedrooms, a gym, and workspaces distributed across multiple floors. Interior finishes include wood cabinetry, plaster surfaces, and felt wall treatments used to manage acoustics. Custom millwork integrates storage, desks, and seating throughout the home. The site also includes an accessory dwelling unit designed as part of the overall property plan.
