The Petri Project by Klari Reis is Scientifically Colorful

Bacteria has never seemed as beautiful as it does in the Petri Project. Of course, that thought should have sent up red flags almost immediately. The Petri Project is not made up of actual samples of bacteria, mold or other microorganisms, it is an art series that uses colorful paint materials in abstract ways. Although the forms the paint takes on look suspiciously scientific, the context is biased considering the Petri Project uses standard plexiglass petri dishes as its choice canvas.

Created by San Francisco-based artist Klari Reis, the Petri Project is a year-long endeavor that will see a new addition to the series every day. A creative challenge, to say the least, each artwork thus far is full of unique color and depth despite the limitation of medium and space.
