People and Entertainment Weekly Launch Free Streaming Video Network

Yet another company is jumping on the streaming bandwagon with a network focusing on two of its most popular entertainment brands: People and Entertainment Weekly. Appropriately dubbed PEWN, Time Inc. is giving what its viewers want -- free programming that will embrace a linear, TV-like watching experience. Of course, that means the People and Entertainment Weekly Network will be supported by ads.

Not only will it broadcast the entertainment coverage both People and Entertainment Weekly are known for, the network will also launch "about 100 hours of original programming, including daily programming around celebrities, pop culture, lifestyle and human-interest stories, rounded out by Time Inc.’s library of VOD assets," according to the company. It is set to debut this fall season.
