Frédéric Platéus’ Panic Rev Exhibition Feature Altered Images

Frédéric Platéus is a Belgian artist and he is currently holding a solo exhibition in Paris' Ruttkowski;68 gallery entitled 'Panic Rev.' The artwork draws inspiration from the visuals of motocross, featuring re-constructed images that are seen in the sport.

The designs are rooted in the aesthetics of sportswear stitching as well as motocross decals, highlighted by glossy coats and sponsorship-esque emblems. Frédéric Platéus begins with digital drawings to map out the color palette and structures of the designs. The artwork is then cut out from wood and layered in thick polystyrene. It is then wrapped with a stretchy PVC, which is often used on ceilings. It wraps tightly using heat before the prints and textures adorn the rest. The Panic Rev exhibition is set to run until May 16th.
