Bubbling Surface Furniture

The Ocean's Edge Table by Tyson Atwell is Full of Movement

The Ocean's Edge Table looks like it has something bubbling up from its surface. Like a hot spring or steaming marsh, the middle of the tabletop is full of movement. Some may even see a desert landscape in addition to the obvious waves it really is meant to portray. Yet besides this unique detail, the Ocean's Edge Table is rather minimalist.

Created by American designer Tyson Atwell, the Ocean's Edge Table was created using a CNC router. Digitally sculpting oceanic waveforms onto the wooden surface, the rise and fall was specifically developed "in CAD by ‘lofting’ a sequence of tide curves sourced from the entrance of the San Francisco Bay," according to Atwell. The table is finished with a set of dark legs.
