OPEN Architecture Arranges a Network of Galleries Inside a Sand Dune

This network of galleries will definitely have guests puzzled by way of their natural hyper-integrated architecture.

The 'UCCA Dune Art Museum' is located in Qinhuangdao, China, and the structure is designed by Beijing-based studio OPEN Architecture. The silhouette, aesthetic and placement of the building are highly experimental, adding value to the adventurous architectural spirit of China. The network of galleries — a total of 10, and a cafe "are interlinked beneath the sand."

The UCCA Dune Art Museum boasts a cave-like interior which contributes to the calm-inducing ambiance of the space, where visitors can be present and experience the art without distraction. Moreover, breathtaking vistas of the Chinese coast can be enjoyed through arched openings.

In addition, OPEN Architecture answers to demands of sustainability with "a low-energy, zero-emissions ground-source heat pump system" in place of air conditioning.
