Nascondino is Designed to Regain Privacy in an Open Concept Environment

The Nascondino is a privacy alcove designed to invite users to have a moment to themselves for reverie. It is ideal for open concept spaces. The Nascondino was designed by Pierre-Emmanuel Vandeputte as a simple alternative to space dividers.

The minimalistic alcove was inspired by the increasingly popular open space and loft-style architectural designs. While these modern layouts are fresh and inviting, their suppression of walls and separated rooms does not foster a sense of privacy. This is addressed in Vandeputte's design. The Noscondino alcove is made from wood and a felt-like canvas. The base is made from two simple wooden beams and the privacy fabric is held up by one tall beam. The design is available in various sizes.
