Built in Hiroshima, Japan, the coastal residence entitled ‘Glass House for Diver’ is constructed by Japanese practice Naf Architect & Design.
Although the home is entirely structured with glass, the perimeter of the building is fortified with 1.5 meter concrete blocks that sit on top of one another. It might not be the most design-savvy to use but it’s definitely a safety barricade to prevent strong forces from demolishing the home. Naf Architect & Design has equipped the home with a seismic design in case the house falls victim to an earthquake.
The facility gives off a serene feel and is only enhanced with special amenities such as a Tatami room and an ultra zen garden. The concrete blocks fits nicely when viewed from within the home and the floor to ceiling glass panes give off the impression of a wallless divider, bringing the outside in.
