Boa Mistura Revamped an Old Building with a Community Mural Project

Getting the community of El Chorrillo in Panama City involved in the beautification of their own neighborhood is one of the ways the Somos Luz mural project by Boa Mistura helped to liven up the area.

Bright colors were key when it came to updating this old building facade, creating a vibrant design that everyone in the community can be proud of. From now on, local residents, children in particular, can look up at the giant wall mural and see the words "somos luz," which translate to "we are light," shining back at them.

This participatory mural project was commissioned by Bienal del Sur in Panama as part of the Crossroads series of communal artwork projects.
