The Mozaika Seat is unlike any stool I have ever come across. Like a crushed disco ball or even a giant thimble, it is a metal stool that looks like it was partly purposeful and partly a mistake. Its unique look definitely makes it a piece of furniture that is both eye-catching and complementary to its surroundings.
Designed by Lui Kawasumi, who has lived in Japan, the Czech Republic, Turkey and the USA, the Mozaika Seat is a mixture of different influences. Although inspired by pottery earlier in life, Kawasumi has demonstrated a great talent with metal and therefore incorporated it into his designs. The Mozaika Seat features an experimental laser-cutting technique, which gives the surface an interesting texture. The introduction of freehand hammering gives it even more personality.
