Gensler and Yabu Pushelberg Designs the Moxy + AC Hotel

The Moxy + AC Hotel Downtown LA is a dual-branded design by both Gensler and design studio Yabu Psuhelberg. It is a L-shaped tower with 37 stories -- one side is for Moxy and the other is for AC Hotel. The inspiration stems from the ethos of California and it resulted in a distinct design language. The interior follows the same suite with elements that capture dessert wildlife, biker culture, and more.

Glenn Pushelberg, founder of Yabu Pushelberg along with George Tabu speaks about the design ethos, stating that
"We always think hard about the sociology and strategy around design, how it affects people and how it makes them feel connected to something. Moxy and AC are different brands, but both appeal to travelers who don’t want to stay in a conventional hotel. They’re both for adventurous, bold, curious tastemakers — so the design can’t be generic."
