Mowalola works in collaboration with New Balance on a new iteration of the 9060 sneaker model that is set to launch tomorrow. The new design stems from a Y2K inspiration to deliver retro elements and is made from a blend of leather and mesh throughout the upper.
It rests on top of a chunky ABOZORB midsole foundation to create an athletic base foundation. The retro-futuristic look is brought forward with the details applied by Mowalola, which is known for its 00s-themed clothing design. The new shoes include a dark tonal palette in terms of the colorway and then are accented with a stark and vibrant tonal contrast in the form of the paneling detail and logo branding.
