This is a morbid art project by Marcus Wittmers called 'Waffenruge.'
He has brilliantly carved realistic images of guns on gravestones. Deliciously dark--I totally love these pieces. I may even be able to live with one, although it would clearly unsettle all visitors to my home.
Implications - In today's society, we hear about horrible things such as war and violent crimes every day. Sometimes people need a little reminder about what is happening on their planet because they are often times stuck in their own little bubble. A trend such as this one is can be compared to shockvertising -- a way of advertising that almost forces people to look and listen. Shockvertising is one of the best ways to get a strong message across to people.
