Triple Glazed Abodes

This Modern Home Emphasizes Natural Light

CHRIST.CHRIST Architects is the studio behind 'House R,' a four-storey modern home in Karlsruhe, Germany, that features a wall of triple-glazed windows.

The glazing allows natural light to flood into the interior of the home, which is arranged in different levels and heights in order to take full advantage of the influx. This includes a double-height living room, kitchen and dining area.

The attic floor, which is one level above the first floor and functions as the master bedroom, leads to an impressive roof terrace. The loft-like arrangement of the floor continues the trend of keeping everything spacious and open. The basement level includes an indoor swimming pool, which, located one meter above the terrain, allows for another ring of windows that provide natural light.
