npz studio+ Designs "The Square" at Bell Works Chicagoland

The Square is a new mixed-use gathering space in the heart of the massive 1.65-million-square-foot former AT&T corporate complex. Titled Bell Works Chicagoland, the location is designated as "a one-of-a-kind destination for business, culture, technology, retail, fitness, dining, hospitality, and more."

Led by Founder and Head Designer Paola Zamudio, npz studio+ worked on The Square, signaling cozy elements and whimsical details. The firm drew inspiration from the painter and color theorist Josef Albers for the aesthetic. The mixed-use gathering space was already flooded with natural light and the design practice took advantage of this by inserting many plants into the space. The seating furniture, on the other hand, is playfully arranged and its color may bring a smile to one's face.

The Square is now a place to socialize, work, and unwind throughout the day.
