Takeshi Hosaka Builds an Interesting & Welcoming Micro Home in Tokyo

Faced with a move to the Bunkyo district, architect Takeshi Hosaka designs and builds a micro home in Tokyo for his wife and himself. Playfully dubbed the 'Love2 House,' which is a spin-off on the couple's previous residence, the space is ultra-compact and design-friendly.

When determining the aesthetic of the micro home in Tokyo, Takeshi Hosaka embraced certain elements of ancient Roman architecture. The inspiration is especially present in the layout of the Love2 House which features an abundance of functional areas that have been arranged in a modest, space-conscious manner. In addition, the architect drew cues from Scandinavia as well, creating "two curved roofs which are open to the sky," to address the need for sunlight.
