Zanotta Gives its Mezzadro Stool a Refreshing Update

The Mezzadro stool was originally designed by two brothers, Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni during the 50s and 60s when the Italian design Renaissance took place. Highsnobiety gives the signature chair a refreshing update with the help of Zanotta.

It is also known as the springy metal seat that is highlighted by its industrial aesthetic with its metal seay and steel crossbow. This is inspired by farming equipment whereas the fixing pin is inspired by cycling culture and the beech wood crosspiece is influenced by nautical elements. The limited-edition stool is built on the basis of industrial design with a red rubber on one side of the seat with a nod to work tools and gloves which are rubberized for grip and protection.
