Rugged Rockies Residences

CCY Architects Built the Maroon Creek Overlook Amid the Rocky Mountains

Built in the middle of the Rocky Mountains outside Aspen, the Maroon Creek Overlook is a rugged retreat that provides truly spectacular views. Though nestled away in a remote location, the private residence, which was designed by American studio CCY Architects, is worth the drive.

Maroon Creek Overlook, so named because of the waterway that meanders down in the valley beneath it, is composed of several timber-clad volumes with massive glass windows, and those volumes are connected to one another by glass bridges. The timber and glass contrast against one another, giving the residence a simultaneously tough and delicate appearance.

Its delicacy is especially striking given the surroundings. Those looking at the home are immediately in awe of how something so peaceful and precarious could get up to such a remote and potentially treacherous area.
