Metamorphic Marble Lamps

This Marble Lamp Uses the Same Raw Material as Michelangelo's Statues

If you're a fan of the classical arts then you'll be happy to hear that this marble lamp uses the same raw material Michelangelo used when making his iconic white metamorphic rock sculptural works Pieta and Moses.

This funky looking 'Manhattan Lamp' -- which acquired its name after the place of origin of its marble from the Calacatta Manhattan quarry -- is designed by Canadian designer Rodrigo Caula. Using precious marble from the Italian city of Carrara, the marble lamp will make for an industrial-looking home accent that would go perfectly with an minimally decorated scape. Made from a solid piece of marble that beautifully reflects light, the table lamp is connected by a black spiral five meter cord to make sure it's easy to position.
