The M2 Center of Innovation Will Open in February 2026

M2 Ingredients has announced the new M2 Center of Innovation lab as a complementary institution to its existing facility in Vista, California to develop upcoming products.

The facility will open in February 2026 and will actively collaboration with food, beverage and supplement brands to help them efficiently develop new products by taking functional mushrooms into account. The center will be lead by R&D innovation manager Jay Schmalz who will be complemented by M2's team of food scientists alongside researchers and formulation experts alike.

CEO Jeff Rogers spoke on the M2 Center of Innovation lab saying, "Brands have historically had to choose between ingredient suppliers and true innovation partners. The M2 Center of Innovation eliminates trade-off by combining deep scientific rigour with real-world formulation and application expertise. This will be a powerful asset for our partner brands and a catalyst for faster, more confident innovation."
