Floating Poetry

Luzinterruptus Remembers the Past With Written Words

Spanish designers Luzinterruptus have always put on impressive public art displays, using everything from illuminated books to urban bird houses. This time, they've decided to go the literary route.

Their latest project '1000 poems by mail' was a three-day installation in which they asked poets to fill lit-up hanging white envelopes with original poetry. The inspiration behind the project was to have us remember the times we communicated through letters instead of e-mails.

The artists also wanted the public to read the poems and think about their loved ones and on the final night they were allowed to send it to the person they were thinking of. This is an inspiring installation filled with nostalgia and helps us reminisce a simpler time. '1000 poems by mail' is literary art at its best.
