The feature allows aspiring photographers, or any smartphone camera user for that matter, to focus on the subject with a shallow depth of field. Essentially, the background surrounding the subject is blurred. To achieve the look, the camera utilizes algorithms just as normal DSLR cameras do.
The look is easy to achieve: users just have to move the camera upwards to capture multiple images. The app then re-renders the photos using a 3D model, which gauges the depth of certain objects. They can also just tap the subject that they want to be more in focus.
