SJK Architects have created a five-part, disengaged home with a unique leaf-canopy design in Alibaug, India, titled ‘The Leaf House.’ The house is comprised of five separate rooms that are spread out around courtyard; a leaf-shaped concrete roof standing on angular columns shelters each room. The wall-less living area brings new meaning to the phrase "open concept" and enjoys a fabulous view and easy access to a delightful lily pond and pool. Several of the glass walls on the other pods can also be removed for a similar open-air effect.
Speaking of their clients needs, the architects explained, "The client enjoyed the idea of pods [that were] overlapping but distinct to house each part of the home. They [wanted] the journey between pods to be a sculpted open space encompassing native trees."
This house is a perfect space for outdoorsy, nature lovers. And if your housemates are getting on your nerves, you can seek solace in an entirely separate pod – now that’s what I call ‘space.’
