Rectangular Stacked Hotels

Le Meridien Hotel Has a Distinct Shape

The Le Meridien hotel was designed by Neri & Hu, who decided to go with a distinct look for its construction. Instead of simply having a rectangular building going straight up, the team used multiple rectangular shapes and stacked them atop one another. The result is a geometrically pleasing hotel design.

The building is located in China, and this form makes the structure look less imposing than if it were to use one massive block of material. Moreover, the glass facade allows visitors to have clear views of their surroundings, making the top floor a prime piece of real estate. The hotel will also offer opportunities for events and conferences for businesses in the area.

Interestingly, the base has a group of bronze polls at the entrance for an added effect. Photo Credits: designboom, en.neriandhu
