Two-Legged Occasional Tables

The Kreten Side Table Embodies a Lighthearted Concrete Design

You probably wouldn't immediately guess the constitution of the Kreten Side Table, for it appears rounded and fluid and like it might be made from a lighter material. Perhaps surprisingly, the piece has actually been manufactured from a mix of fiberglass-reinforced concrete.

The designers from Souda first stitched together uniquely shaped molds from flexible rubberized fabric. They resemble pairs of pants intended for cartoon characters. The hardening substance was then poured into the forms and allowed to expand and round out in the top and the bottom.

The result is a collection of coffee tables that are quite different from each other, as a result of different molds and the organic behavior of the materials. Further variety is given to the Kreten Side Table in the form of an orange or black finish.
