Nika Zupanc Designs the Knitty Chair with a Basket-Weave Look

Slovenian designer Nika Zupanc unveils her new Knitty Chair design that is captured in a new video production for Dezeen done by Design Dreams for Moooi. It is inspired by the large mooring ropes that are seen on ships and the silhouette is an armchair with a chunky design reminiscent of a basket-weave. It looks like a knotted rope at first glance and the chair is upholstered in a knit fabric offered in 15 colors.

Zupanc speaks about the chair in a video interview with Dezeen, noting that "It is really comfy, generous and of course hopefully also very iconic. It was inspired by these very big ropes with which very big ships are tied to the ports. It is trying to change the perspective on things, playing with the scale that we are used to see in our everyday lives."
