KFC Japan Now Serves Fried Salmon Fillets in Conjunction with Sanrio

KFC Japan has added a new seafood item to its breaded poultry menu that now includes deep fried salmon fillets. The addition is based off a partnership KFC has with Sanrio that has turned the new fish menu item into an adorable smiling mascot.

While KFC is a fast food chain known for its deep fried breaded chicken and Southern cuisine, the Japanese branch of the eatery is serving up fried Salmon with branding done by Sanrio. Sanrio is known for creating the Hello Kitty character and for KFC the brand has created a caricature of a fillet of pink salmon known as Agemi-kun.

The deep fried fillets are a limited edition menu item that is served either individually or as part of a fish sandwich along with tartar sauce, basil and lettuce.
