Latticed Tulip Garden Pavilions

Keukenhof has a New Pavilion Designed by Mecanoo

Keukenhof, the legendary tulip garden in the Dutch town of Lisse, has been one of the Netherlands' major tourist attractions for decades. However, the gardens' access points had always been notably unceremonious, despite the wondrous flowers that grace its interior. Dutch architecture firm Mecanoo has changed that by building a unique and striking pavilion to greet visitors at the main entrance.

The inviting and open gatehouse at Keukenhof is most notable because of its roof. The design is formed from an interwoven series of isosceles triangles, giving a latticed structure that stretches across the entire entrance. This lattice is made from light timber, which contrasts nicely in comparison to the complex shadows that its forms create.
