After two years of renovations, the grand Kensington Palace is reopen to the public. The 407-year-old building received a facelift after seeing royalties who lived there for years. Queen Victoria and the beloved Princess Diana once lived here and it's going to be the future home for Prince William and his wife Catherine.
Kensington Palace is home to both royalties and the public as a part of the palace acts as a museum. It took about 12 million pounds or $18 million to renovate this centuries old home. Renovations included bringing in a classic glorious gold room, which people expected to see, and also more modern touches. The changes peeled the layers back revealing more designs.
The palace used to be surrounded by hedges and bushes that masks its treasure but now it's more open so the public can see. Many people will flock to the display of dresses belonging to Princess Diana, who occupied the house for 16 years before her death in 1997.
This facelift is sure to rack in more visitors as Kensington Palace offers rich designs and history.
