The Keep-A-Breast ‘I Heart Boobies' Bracelets Banned

The Keep-A-Breast ‘I [Heart] Boobies’ bracelets, launched by the non-profit organization in an attempt to raise awareness of Breast Cancer among the youth, are meeting controversy across schools in the United States.

The bracelets have been banned by the Clovis Unified School District in California, due to their explicit and suggestive language, while other schools are requiring that students flip the bracelet inside out to hide the word "boobies."

Keep-A-Breast spokeswoman Kimmy McAtee defended the bracelets (and the organization’s similarly designed tees) by saying, "We do fully understand that the ‘I Love Boobies’ campaign is not for everyone, which is why we provide several other graphics for people to proudly wear…We also feel that the word ‘boobies’ is not a four-letter word."

Regardless of whether the Keep-A-Breast ‘I [Heart] Boobies’ bracelets are appropriate or not, they sure have succeeded in getting young people—and others—to take notice!
