João Abreu Valente recreates classic tea sets by removing the most basic elements and creating each item in the set from one mold in the Teapot'Set
The scaled-down set is meant to be a much more minimalistic approach to kitchenware and Valente describes that, "In the future objects should become a clear representation of their own process, for the consumer to have a better understanding of the way objects (world) are being produced." The artist completes this endeavor by using a single mold from which he has created the entire set that can be stacked into one package that takes very little space.
The post-modern approach to kitchenware is both simplistic and sophisticated with the level of detail being little to none, which gives off an air of minimalism.
