Jenine Shereos Weaves Leaves Out of Human Hair

Unless you've seen her work before, I'd bet dollars to donuts that you couldn't guess what Jenine Shereos made these leaves out of. If you said human hair you're correct. Shereos meticulously recreated leaves by stretching, stitching and knotting strands of human hair together.

Painting a masterpiece or designing a building takes talent, but what this artist has done here takes both talent and a ton of patience. Recreating the small veins and lines found in a leaf isn't easy, especially when your medium is as finicky as a strand of human hair. What's perhaps most intriguing about this work is the parallel Jenine Shereos draws between hair and leaves, comparing the imprint a falling hair makes on the floor to the same one a leaf makes on the forest floor.
