Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola creates stunning optical illusion rugs that do not only fit the interior design of the modern-styled abode, but can also double up as wall art pieces. The maker used geometrical pattering and color theory to create two rugs, Rotazioni and Visioni, that trick the untrained eye with a false sense of depth.
The optical illusion rugs rely on color blocks that vary in saturation and hue, geometric shapes and their repetition throughout, as well as bold black outlines that guide the eye to trickery. For Rotazioni, meaning "rotations" in Italian, Urquiola overlays a "set of cylindrical shapes," while for Visioni the featured shapes are rectangles and parallelograms that introduce similar 3D effects.
The optical illusion rugs are bound to be a wonderful and artful fit for any home interior.
